Lincoln Mayflower Transit -- innovations in moving since 1903

It's hard to imagine moving your family or company by cramming all your belongings onto a horse-pulled cart or loading them on a train car. That's how moves were made in 1903, when Reg T. Blauvelt purchased the Orange, New Jersey, company that was to become Lincoln Storage Warehouses and then Lincoln Mayflower.

Fortunately, the moving industry has come a long way from its horse and cart days, and so has Lincoln. The company was among the industry's early innovators, and in 1930 was the first New Jersey mover to sign on with the fledgling Aero Mayflower Transit Co. Aero Mayflower had been founded as an alternative to railroads for customers who were interested in moving cross-country on the nation's expanded network of paved highways.

The #1 recognized van line in the US

As an independently owned Mayflower agent, Lincoln was among the first in the industry to equip its long-distance moving vans with "air-ride" suspension systems and mobile radios.

Over the years, Mayflower became the most recognized brand name in the moving industry. Mayflower Transit and its agents continued to strengthen service to customers with electronic claims handling, and more. In 1995, Mayflower Transit was acquired by UniGroup, Inc., becoming part of a global relocation and logistics organization known for best-in-class service.

In 2008, Lincoln Mayflower became a division of The Liberty Group, a service provider and owner within the UniGroup family of companies. As part of The Liberty Group, Lincoln Mayflower continues to offer its residential, corporate, and office and industrial customers a brand name they can trust, along with the global reach and forward thinking of Liberty and UniGroup.
